This is a short visit to the small town of Usk, situated about 10 miles northeast of the City of Newport in South Wales (UK). The town has been around since the year AD55 and was used by the Romans as one of thier first legionary fortresses. It became a widely known town after the 'Welsh Revolt' in 1403 when Owain Glyndwr burned the town to the ground. In Wales, Usk is known by the name of 'Brynbuga' although the local residents rarely speak the welsh language these days.
In 1980, Usk was twinned with the German town of Graben-Neudorf and there have been same high key visits between the two towns in recent years. Read more HERE
