Making your first Slide Show - Using Photoshop and Pictures To Exe software
Using your own images to create a Slide Show can be a very exciting and rewarding experience. The finished slide show can be sent to family and friends who will be amazed by you skill and professionalism. There are many software programs on the market that will allow you to make slide shows but, in my opinion, one of the best is called 'Pictures To Exe' and I will be using this program, together with Photoshop, to show you just how easy it is to produce a slide show of excellent quality
If you are new to this kind of software, the very thought of creating your first slide show can be a little daunting but, with the help of this pdf tutorial, you will very quickly learn how to master the basic skills required.
On the CD, I have included a link that will take you to the Adobe Website, where you will be able to download the FREE version of Adobe Reader, just in case you do not yet have it installed on your computer.
The tutorial is in three parts and is written in an easy to follow 'step by step' fashion that allows you to learn at your own pace but I think that you will be creating your first slide show within a matter of a few hours - it really is that easy to do.
Part One - Deals with the important requirement of having a methodical method of working. I will show you how to use Windows Explorer to create the set of folders that you will need for holding (and saving) your work.
Part Two - Deals with the work you will need to do in your image editor, I will be using Photoshop for this task. You will learn how to use the 'Crop' tool to resize your images to the correct dimensions required. I also show you how to add a thin line to the outside edge of your images that acts as a border to make them stand out a little from the background.
Part Three - This is where you learn how to use the Pictures To Exe program to create the actual Slide Show. I will go through the entire process from creating the PTE Project, then adding your images to the Slide List, setting the required Project Options, adding background sound, making some simple title slides and creating the final Slide Show itself.
When you have finished the tutorial, you will be confident enough to create your own slide show and will then want to go even further and learn the more advanced skills that will empower you to make very professional shows that you will be very proud of.
